Excessive crying (colic)

During the first few months, a healthy baby may cry very hard and for a long time (see Excessive crying (colic)). Most of the time, excessive crying is completely normal and is unrelated to diet.

If your baby drinks too fast, chokes and starts to cry, she may swallow lots of air. This can make her feel bloated and uncomfortable. Burp your child or take feeding breaks to soothe her.
