Alcohol use in Indigenous contexts: Through the lens of protective factors
This capsule, based on two knowledge synthesis by the Institut national de santé publique, is an introduction to protective factors of alcohol use among Indigenous people, more specifically young people and women in the perinatal period. Intended for public health professionals interested in Indigenous issues, it presents concepts such as intergenerational trauma, the impact of environments on health behaviour and risk and protective factors. Reflections on possible actions are proposed to better understand and address these issues.
