QMEQAS: Quebec Multielement External Quality Assessment Scheme

This scheme was initiated in 1996 to supply laboratories having multielement capabilities, such as ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma – Mass Spectrometry), with a wide range of analytes in human biological matrices that are not freeze-dried. Approximately 60 laboratories are involved in this program.

Participants receive three rounds per year, each containing six PTMs. Each PTM includes all analytes, except for strontium which is added specifically to blood. The biological matrices provided are hair, blood, serum and urine.
