Psychoactive substances and gambling
Alcohol and illicit drug use rank second and eighth respectively as risk factors for mortality and morbidity in developed countries.
At INSPQ, work on alcohol, drugs and gambling is mainly focused on improving public policies and prevention practices. To meet the needs of the community, we collaborate on various scientific productions related to the monitoring of alcohol and drug consumption and the practice of gambling. We carry out work aimed at identifying and analyzing the determinants of the consumption of these products and their consequences (public policies, commercial practices, social representations and norms, psychosocial determinants) and we manage projects aimed at the development and evaluation of prevention interventions, particularly with young people.
