to be held July 3 to 8, 2010, at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. The theme for
the conference is Sharing Knowledge for Global Health and the purpose of the event
is to promote multidisciplinary interaction among scientists around the world. July
3 and 4 will be devoted to two pre-conference activities, namely, the traditional
Clinical Workshop and the Public Health Workshop, the latter offered for the first
time thanks to a partnership between the Institut national de santé publique du

 Systematic screening is accepted as the most efficient method of detecting deafness before the critical age of six months. It is currently practiced in several European countries, in 32 American states, and in three Canadian provinces. Certain conditions relating to systematic screening preclude it from being implemented in some provinces, including Quebec.
