Le Centre de toxicologie du Québec

 

Provides toxicological expertise to the Québec health network.

Develops and applies specialized analytical methods to evaluate human exposure to heavy metals, solvents and their metabolites, pesticides and other environmental pollutants.

Contributes to research through the development and application of biomarkers.

Performs emergency toxicological screens for drugs of abuse and other drugs.

Organizes external quality assessment schemes for toxic substances in blood and urine, with over 250 participants from 30 countries.


 
  
The CTQ was created in 1972 and has been part of the INSPQ since 1998. Its mission is to provide toxicological expertise and laboratory services to the health network of Québec. It also offers its lab services, including external quality assessment schemes, to an international clientele. The laboratory is accredited under ISO 17025 (lab analyses) by the Standards Council of Canada.
